So what exactly goes on in these installments? Basically I give a chapter-by-chapter summary and discuss what works and what doesn’t, and what I find completely ridiculous. I think now that Fifty Shades of Grey is the new thing to copy, it’s been forgotten in Development Hell.) (This project hasn’t gone beyond rumors, by the way. There’s not much about it that stands out, but for whatever reason, Disney thought it would make a good movie and allegedly cast Miley Cyrus in the main role. In that regard, Wings seems a little formulaic: a girl with a mysterious past, dark magical creatures, two swoonworthy boys to choose between. Wings road the success of the post- Twilight bandwagon, way back in 2009 – a simpler time where almost all of YA was dominated by supernatural romances because, well, Stephenie Meyer was doing something right. (If two people reading and enjoying what I write counts as success.) Whether anyone reads or not, this particular story needs to be talked about, especially considering the genre and the subject material. I’ve done this several times before on Tumblr and it was met with…relative success. Oh dear, it looks like it’s that time again! I’ve found a story that needs an in-depth analysis of why it’s not a very good story.
